Jennifer Grows Her Business to the Next Level


Jennifer, the owner of a marketing communications company, had just fired 50% of her staff because she was “fed up with all the management issues.”  That resulted in her having only two employees including herself and an office administrative person who was also a problem.  She utilized contract personnel extensively to do a lot of the work.  In spite of all her difficulties, the business was moderately successful.

Son Purchases Business From Dad


John, the son, assumed management control of the business several years ago and under his leadership grew the business from less than $1mm to over $6mm. There was always a verbal agreement between Dad and John for John to someday purchase the company.  “Someday” kept being pushed out into the future until Dad started having serious health problems.
